Soft Loans and Linkage to financial institutions
Interest free passes on
soft loans are provided to People Living with HIV (PLHIV), families
caring for OVC and the sick. The loan is repaid within a period of
eleven months in which after repayment the loan is passed on to another
and another thereafter. Business management training is provided to
beneficiaries on how to manage their small scale businesses.
Those who like to
increase capital are linked to financial institutions for where they are
provided with additional financial support to run medium scale
businesses.
Livestock management
The program provides pass on goats to households caring for
orphans and sick people. Three goats (one he goats & two she goats) are
provided to a household which after reproducing are to pass on two she
goats to another household in which that household has to pass on to
another thereafter. After reproduction the goats some are sold and the
money used to pay school fees and provide basic needs for the family.
The families are also provided with training in livestock management.
