Palliative care
The program conduct home visits to chronically and terminally ill people. Refer sick people to hospital for treatment. Provide disinfectants to HBC households. Establish PLHIV support groups where PLHIV meet for group therapy. Feed and bath patients who are bedridden. Train care givers and volunteers in counseling and management of opportunistic infections. Initiate the establishment of ART clinics in hospitals where these services are not provided to increase accessibility of ARVs.
HIV testing and Counseling
The HIV testing and counseling acts as an entry point to prevention at the same time as an entry point to ART treatment.
NACC is conducting HIV testing and counseling (HTC) services in the rural and underserved areas. NACC is providing these service using different approaches like door to door, mobile, outreach and static. Which are very important approaches in increasing access to HTC to those who cannot afford to travel long distances to access these services.
